10 Personal Motivational Goals That Will Inspire Right Now

Personal goals are the things we strive for to improve our lives and become better versions of ourselves. Whether it's achieving career success, improving our health, or deepening our relationships, setting personal goals can help us focus our efforts and achieve our desired outcomes. A happy life is ours for the taking, if we just put in the work.  In this article, I will discuss ten personal goals that you can set today to start changing your life.

I. Start a daily exercise routine

Physical exercise is essential for good health and wellbeing. Exercise has numerous benefits, including reducing stress, boosting mood, improving cardiovascular health, and strengthening muscles and bones. You don't have to spend hours in the gym to reap the benefits of exercise. Starting with just 15 minutes as a first step.  Stretching or a short walk each day can help you establish a routine and build momentum. Over time, you can gradually increase the duration and intensity of your exercise routine.  Setting goals for exercising is easier than you think.  Start small.

II. Create a daily gratitude journal

Gratitude is a powerful practice that can shift our focus from what we lack to what we have. Research has shown that cultivating gratitude can increase happiness, reduce stress, and improve overall well being. Starting a daily gratitude journal is a simple way to incorporate this practice into your life. Each day, write down three things you are grateful for and reflect on why they are meaningful to you.  Walt Disney said “the way to get started is to stop talking and start doing”.  Obviously words to live by.

III. Set aside time each day for self-care

Self-care refers to activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It is essential to make time for self-care each day, even if it's just a few minutes. This can include taking a relaxing bath, meditating, or engaging in a hobby you enjoy. Self-care is not selfish; it is an important aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  No matter what your job is, it entails hard work, be it physical, mental or emotional.  Needing to refresh yourself so that you avoid burnout is essential.

IV. Limit your screen time

Excessive screen time has been linked to a range of negative health outcomes, including poor sleep quality, eye strain, and reduced physical activity. To limit your screen time, try setting boundaries around when and how much you use your devices. For example, you could turn off your phone an hour before bedtime or take breaks from your computer every hour.  There are all types of apps and gadgets to help achieve this. Pomodoro is one of the easiest and most popular time management and focus apps.

V. Read a book or learn a new skill

Reading is a great way to expand your knowledge and keep your mind active. Whether you prefer fiction or non-fiction, there are countless books available that can teach you something new or help you see the world from a different perspective. Alternatively, you could learn a new skill, such as cooking, painting, or playing an instrument. Learning new things can help you build confidence, increase creativity, and stimulate your brain.  I took up rock painting.  One my most favorite hobbies now.

VI. Practice mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment. It involves paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and increase overall wellbeing. You can practice mindfulness through meditation, breathing exercises, or simply by being more aware of your thoughts and emotions throughout the day.   Practicing mindfulness has made it easier for me to not follow the shiny objects.  My mind doesn't wander as much and I am much better and goal setting and meeting those little goals leading to bigger goals. Making this practice has been one of the most important changes that has helped my business.

VII. Improve your diet

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is essential for good health and wellbeing. A diet rich in whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein, can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve digestion, and boost energy levels. To improve your diet, try incorporating more whole foods into your meals and snacks, and limit your intake of processed and sugary foods.  Don't go overboard and try and make massive changes.  Small, incremental steps will get you there.  The most important thing is to start.  It doesn't have to be a burning desire.  Just start.

VIII. Get outside and spend time in nature

Spending time in nature has numerous benefits for our physical and mental health. Exposure to natural light and fresh air can boost mood, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality. Whether it's taking a walk in the park, going for a hike, or spending time in your backyard, make an effort to get outside and connect with nature regularly.  Again, no big goals required here.  Great things happen outside.  Fresh thoughts, a new dream, great goals, because the only limit out there is you.

Goals

IX. Connect with friends or family members

Maintaining social connections is an important aspect of overall wellbeing. Spending time with loved ones can reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation, boost mood, and provide a sense of support and belonging. Make an effort to regularly connect with friends and family members, whether it's through phone calls, video chats, or in-person meetings.  There is a lot to be said for having a comfort zone.  Yes, we all have to leave it occasionally, but it is really good to be able to return there.  Maintaining these connections in most cases doesn't require much work, but they are so worth having.  As Allstate says, “you're in good hands” (ok, I know that's cheesy but it's still true).  Family and friends are good hands to have around you.

X. Set a goal to save money

Saving money is an important aspect of financial wellbeing. Setting a specific savings goal, such as saving a certain amount of money each month, can help you stay motivated and make progress towards your financial goals. To achieve your savings goal, create a budget, track your expenses, and look for ways to cut back on unnecessary spending. This easy to achieve in bite-size chunks.   Setting clear goals, whether its your financial life, personal life or professional life set goals simply makes day-to-day life easy.  The good news will be obvious when your achievements on all levels start rolling in.

As with all things, the main thing is putting in enough effort.  Doing the right thing is the easiest and best way to achieve greater goals. If you need motivational quotes to hang on your wall, home page on your tablet, phone, desktop, you can lookup  Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt,  Les Brown, Stephen King, Rachel Carson, Venus Williams, Maya Angelou, Larry Bird,  Muhammed Ali, Warren Buffett and Nelson Mandela.  You will find all of the motivation and inspirational quotes you need to stay motivated and focused on your dreams.
